One of my favorite places to visit is the ocean. I love the breeze, the sound of the waves crashing into shore and the feeling of the sand between my toes. But, have you ever stopped at the shore to gaze at the expanse of the ocean? It’s truly amazing! It goes on for miles and miles without overstepping its boundary line!
I’m in awe at how the water knows where to stop. It knows its boundary. Think of how powerful the tiny grains of sand are in holding back the roaring ocean. Wow! That’s the power of God!
Jeremiah 5:22 says, “Should you not fear me?” declares the Lord. “Should you not tremble in my presence? I made the sand a boundary for the sea, an everlasting barrier it cannot cross. The waves may roll, but they cannot prevail; they may roar, but they cannot cross it.” When I read this verse, I saw the power of God in the tiny grains of sand. Storms may roll in and cause the tides to overflow its boundaries, but the water eventually will recede back behind the line of sand at the shore, because it knows its boundary.
Proverbs 8:29 also tells us that the Lord has already placed the boundary for the ocean, “when he gave the sea its boundary so the waters would not overstep his command, and when he marked out the foundations of the earth.”
That’s the goodness of God. He has given us boundaries to protect us in life.
God has given us the ability to choose to live within His boundaries or to live outside His boundaries. That’s the gift of free will.
If we find ourselves living outside of His boundaries, then often times, hardship, chaos, financial struggles, substance dependency, illness, unhappiness tend to follow at some point in life. However, if we choose to live within His guidelines, we experience protection, health, prosperity, joy, peace, and everlasting life. A sense of security in knowing that “no weapon formed against thee shall prosper” (Isaiah 54:17).
God wants each of us in our own free will to choose Him. Acts 2:21 says “And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Everyone includes you! Why not choose today, to live within the boundaries of our loving Father?
Blessed beyond measure,
Stephanie 💕
